Overview

Head Lifeguards

The YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring a Head Lifeguard. You will serve as the friendly hawk that keeps our members safe and our aquatics team on the ball. 

 

Availability: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Mondays.


Must be fixable to work various hours during pool operations. Morning opener, Mid-day, and or Evening Closer shifts. Shifts per day 4 - 6 hours, over the weekend. Demonstrate Leadership qualities, to lead lifeguards, assist new lifeguards with timeclock process. Report in ready and able to act on any emergency that may arise over the weekend. Document all incidents. Participate in monthly In-service training. Reports directly to Aquatics Director. Take the lead for weekend lifeguard scheduling issues, availability. Be ready to cover additional shifts for weekend Lifeguard team. 

 

Salary Range: $18.50-20.25/hour depending on experience and availability. In addition, we offer a +10% differential for bilingual staff who test as fluent in Spanish and English.

You not only have all your certifications and years on the stand, but you possibly even have some management or leadership experience. You love the idea of being part of an organization that makes a difference in your community. You love that your work saves lives, and that feeling makes you smile each and every day you come to work.

Qualifications

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Current ARC/YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR-PR Certifications
  • Current Oxygen Administration Certification
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Blood Borne Pathogens within 30 days of being hired
  • New Staff Orientation within 30 days of being hired

Benefits

All Employees receive a free individual membership and anyone working 10+ hours receives a free family membership, 50-100% off our programs and if eligible, we contribute the equivalent of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement Fund.

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.
