Overview

YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake in Ward, Colorado is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Kitchen Manager to provide support for the camp by providing meals for all staff living on site. All staff will be provided with three meals a day, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our ideal candidate understands the power of teamwork and is eager to work with other members of our staff throughout the summer. We are looking for camp staffers with an "I've got this" mindset ' bringing cool-headedness and confidence to tackle the challenges and changes that pop up daily.

 

Pay Rate: $20-25/hour, up to 40 hours each week and you may have the option to live at camp. This is a seasonal role and training begins June 3rd. 

Dates: June 3rd - August 11th

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the daily upkeep of camp. This may include washing dishes, setting up the dining hall, clean-up after meals, maintaining cleanliness in all areas and performing any maintenance that may be determined by the Y staff or the Dower employees
  • Adheres to program standards and expectations including safety and cleanliness standards
  • Attending staff meetings and training
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies
  • Maintains positive relations with campers and other staff. Models' relationshipbuilding skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Maintains constructive and timely communication with supervisors

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least 21 years of age
  • CPR, WFA, AED certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date. We can provide these
  • Must have 1-2 years of kitchen experience

Physical Demands:
Camp life can be physically and emotionally challenging. You will be asked to function at elevation, in a variety of summer mountain weather ranging from snow to highs in the 90's with potential strong thunderstorms. On an average day you will walk 2-3 miles.

Part-Time employees also receive paid sick time of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

Posted Salary Range
