YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake Kitchen Specialist

YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake is seeking enthusiastic and energetic Kitchen Specialists to provide support for the camp by maintaining a clean, safe and enjoyable environment. Our crew of Kitchen Specialists make sure our camp community is fueled for adventures, from preparing healthy meals to snacks and more. Our ideal candidate understands the power of teamwork and is eager to work with other members of our staff team throughout the summer. We are looking for camp staffers with an "I've got this" mindset bringing cool-headedness and confidence to tackle the challenges and changes that pop up daily.

Pay Rate: $16.57/hour. This position requires you to live at camp. Room and board are included. Camp staff training begins May 25, 2025.

• Assists the Kitchen Director in preparing meals for campers and staff members, including preparing salad and sandwich bars, special dietary needs, setting up the dining hall for mealtimes, and snacks.
• Assists the Kitchen Director with cleaning kitchen appliances, cleaning the kitchen and dining hall spaces, dishwashing, organizing inventory and food service deliveries.
• Reports to the Kitchen Director.
• Help maintain the kitchen and dining hall areas to meet Colorado State licensing and inspections, Health inspections, ACA preparation and visitation.
• Maintain a professional presence for YMCA Camp Tumbleson Lake through appropriate staff and camper interactions and adheres to Associations and Camps codes of conduct.
• Attend all required staff meetings on time.
• Adheres to program standards and expectations including safety and cleanliness standards.
• Models’ relationship-building skills for campers and staff.
• Problem solves, communicates, and documents camper behavioral issues as they arise, and passes them off to leadership staff members as needed.
• Incorporate the mission, philosophy, and 5 core values of the YMCA of Northern Colorado in all communication with participants and staff-members.
• Other job duties as assigned.

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous kitchen or dining experience preferred.
• ServSafe required, can be attained after hiring.
• CPR/AED, First Aid certifications and Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date. We will provide these during staff training.
• Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
