LEGO-Themed Day Camp Program Leader

Summer camp is fun; that's a fact! As a staff member at our YMCA of Northern Colorado Day Camps, you'll participate in games, crafts, LEGO challenges, team-building, and so much more! We're looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who want to lead children through exciting, hands-on activities and create an unforgettable summer camp experience. As a Program Leader at our LEGO-themed camp, you'll help foster a positive environment where campers engage in creative play, explore new activities, and develop valuable life skills. Come join our camp family for one of the most enjoyable and rewarding summers of your life! This year, Lego Camp will be traveling to each of our YMCA branches every two weeks, giving campers the opportunity to experience a variety of locations and activities. As a Program Leader, you’ll travel with your team from one branch to the next, ensuring a seamless and fun camp experience for all campers!

• Training: Required training will take place from May 19-23, 2025.
• No Weekends: Enjoy your weekends free!
• Seasonal Position: May 27th through August 8th, with opportunities to extend into school year programs (before and after school care).
• Multiple locations - Boulder, Lafayette, Loveland, Johnstown, Longmont. Position will be reimbursed with mileage. 

• Lead & Supervise: Independently lead and supervise children in small and large group activities, focusing on LEGO-themed challenges, games, and teamwork.
• Create a Fun Environment: Facilitate games, crafts, and activities that promote creativity, collaboration, and fun in a safe and supportive environment.
• Ensure Safety: Follow YMCA program standards, including safety protocols, cleanliness standards, and emergency procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Provide leadership and support to Program Aides and Volunteers, ensuring everyone works together to create a positive camp experience.
• Positive Guidance: Practice positive guidance and preventative discipline techniques, using natural consequences in accordance with YMCA policies and expectations.
• Communication: Maintain open, friendly, and professional relationships with staff, parents, campers, and community members. Ensure clear communication with your supervisor regarding any issues or needs.
• Record Keeping: Assist with maintaining attendance records, participant files, and other documentation.
• Attend Trainings & Meetings: Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other required events.
• Be Flexible & Reliable: Be on time for all shifts, and be adaptable to accommodate unexpected schedule changes, including full days if needed.
• Other duties as assigned

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Previous experience working with children in a recreational, educational, or leadership role is preferred.
• Provide documentation of 480 hours of experience working directly with school-age children in such areas as Sunday school, Scouts, or sports.
• Become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid (can be complete through the YMCA).
• Enthusiastic, responsible, and dependable.
• Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative.
• Comfortable with hands-on activities, including LEGO building, crafts, and team games.
• Strong communication skills with both children and adults.
