Overview

Develops, organizes, and implements high quality ice development programs. Under direct supervision of the Ice Operations Director, Ice Program Development Coordinator assumes responsibility for the daily operations of the assigned programs. Coordinates clinics/practices/games, rosters, schedules and staff. Must demonstrate and interpret positive values and have direct leadership experience working with children and adults. Must be able to be a team player, be a positive role model, and fulfill responsibilities in accordance with YMCA philosophies and goals. Will communicate and work with a variety of people: children, parents, coaches and staff and have knowledge and understanding of the learn to skate/play programs as well as the youth hockey program; and have skills in office administration, data organization and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises program activities for ice program development, including learn to skate, learn to play and mites hockey, to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Monitors daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
  • Manages and ensures completion of all required training for self and staff in Training Home, in addition to any required in-person training.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations as they relate to program areas. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met, and safety procedures followed at all times.
  • Maintains regular and timely communications with supervisor, other Y employees, parents, and coaches other community members and organizations.
  • Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants and community.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans for the ice department. This includes creating, implementing, and scheduling programs.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information, may organize and schedule program registrations.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of program budget to meet fiscal objectives and takes appropriate action to correct variances. Completes all weekly and monthly paperwork in accordance with association policy.
  • Assists in YMCA fund raising activities and special events.
  • Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints within 24 hours.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation
    in program.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  1. One to two years related experience preferred.
  2. Requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
  3. Maintains applicable ice certifications as necessary (through the Y or other licensing agencies).
  4. Computer and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
    the community.

Posted Salary Range

USD $16.00 - USD $18.00 /Hr.
