Membership Coordinator

Under the direct supervision of the Membership Director, the Membership Coordinator will provide leadership and training to the Customer Relations Specialist staff team and ensures administrative duties assigned by the Membership Director are in a timely and organized manner. The individual must deliver excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes membership and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby and front desk areas. The Membership Coordinator participates in Association-wide efforts to fulfill the operational objectives of the Association and in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Northern Colorado.

• Mentors, serves as a role model, trains, and leads membership staff in providing exceptional customer service.
• Assists the Membership Director with various administrative assignments, including revenue collection and membership data collection.
• Assists the Membership Director with membership engagement and retention efforts.
• Conducts tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships and accurately processes all necessary membership and program transactions.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints within 24 hours.
• Works various shifts, as needed, to ensure coverage of the desk and oversee staff performance.
• Participates in staff or related meetings and trainings.
• Monitors daily operations to adhere to all YMCA health and safety standards and policies.
• Manages and ensures completion of all required trainings for self and staff in Training Home.
• Maintains regular and timely communications with supervisor, other Y employees, parents, coaches, other community members, and organizations.
• Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff, parents, participants, and community.
• Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Previous customer service, sales, or related experience, including six months as Customer Relations Specialist II or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of computers and software.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Requirements within 30 days of hire include the completion of Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
