Responsibilities

Instructs swimming lessons in accordance with YMCA guidelines, having prepared lesson plans accordingly. Builds effective, authentic relationships with students and parents; helps them connect with each other and the YMCA. Conveys information on aquatics programs and schedules and as appropriate refers students and parents to other programs.  Maintains records as required (i.e. attendance, progress reports, etc.).  Follows all YMCA policies, rules, regulations and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. Completes related reports as necessary. Organizes and puts away needed class equipment. Reports damaged equipment. Attends all staff meetings and in-service training. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  •  Minimum 16 years of age
  • Staff are expected to become certified or supply documentation of current certification in CPR and First Aid (these courses can be completed through the YMCA).
  • Staff will be expected to work well on a team, communicate well with youth, parents, and colleagues, and be committed to high-quality programming.

Posted Salary Range

USD $17.00 - USD $22.00 /Hr.
