Overview

Under the direction of the Branch Membership Director, the Family Programs Coordinator will support day-to-day branch family programs operations. This will include Child Watch as well as family-oriented special events and facility rentals. The Family Programs Coordinator ensures effective use of resources, safe and welcoming environments, and measurable outcomes. This role supports the growth, sustainability, and community impact of the YMCA.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures adherence to all YMCA policies, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong, supportive relationships with members and their families.
  • Provide program and administrative support for Child Watch, including in-program leadership.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing family events and programs.
  • Serve as a liaison to community partners to increase rental revenue and expand rental amenities.
  • Respond to rental inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Act as the on-site supervisor for facility rentals and special events.
  • Act as a liaison between families, schools, churches, and the YMCA.
  • Utilize newsletters, social media, calendars, and other platforms to engage and inform families.
  • Promote YMCA programs through proactive outreach and relationship-building in the community.
  • Maintain accurate records of family engagement activities, event attendance, and volunteer participation.
  • Track and summarize member and family feedback to support program improvement.
  • Provide timely reports and updates to membership and program directors.
  • Work closely with YMCA departments to ensure a unified approach to family and member engagement.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development.
  • Support the YMCA’s Annual Campaign and other fundraising efforts by encouraging family involvement.
  • Collaborate with program directors to integrate family engagement into childcare, youth programs, and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Education or training in early childhood development, human development, education, or related field.
  • Experience working with families, children, and diverse communities.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with digital communication tools.
  • Positive, professional, welcoming presence with strong teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community, track record of building authentic,
  • constructive relationships with others.

Posted Salary Range

USD $19.00 - USD $21.00 /Hr.
